DERMAPLANING TREATMENTDermaplaning is a method of physical exfoliation for the skin. It removes approximately 21 days worth of dead skin and can be performed as often as every 3-4 weeks. During the treatment, a medical grade blade glides over the face and neck to gently, yet effectively, remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells. Dermaplaning also has the added bonus of removing vellus hair (aka peach fuzz) which can make the skin appear ashy or dull. After removing the top layer of skin cells and the vellus hair, skin feels incredibly smooth and looks radiant.

DERMAPLANING FAQWhat are the benefits of Dermaplaning?
Does dermaplaning hurt?
Dermaplaning does not hurt at all, in fact, the treatment is quite relaxing. It is a zero downtime service ( slight to moderate pinkness may last a few hours after the service on sensitive/ reactive skin types ) and is perfect to do before an event or as your monthly spa exfoliating treatment.
Will it make the hair on my face grow back darker or thicker?
Absolutely not! There are different types of hair that grow on the body; vellus hair and terminal hair. Terminal hair grows on your scalp, eyebrows and pubic region while fine soft vellus hair covers the majority of the rest of the body. Vellus hair grows back exactly the same ( fine and soft) after dermaplaning since it is physically impossible for it to turn into terminal hair.
What is the difference between dermaplaning and microdermabrasion?
Both of these services are physical methods of exfoliation. Dermaplaning exfoliates the skin deeper than microdermabrasion can and also removes the vellus hair.
Am I a good candidate for dermaplaning?
If you want instantly smooth glowing skin then this is the treatment for you! The only time Dermaplaning is not appropriate is if a client has inflammatory acne covering the majority of the face . Please contact the spa if you are unsure or have any questions regarding this.
